Saligao Police have recovered all the gold jewellery worth Rs 2.90 lakh which was allegedly stolen by the accused, Prajakta Khavnekar, (22) of Kudal-Maharashtra who had visited the victim’s house in Salmona-Saligao as a guest.
Nishita Digambar Naik had lodged a police complaint on April 6 and acting on the complaint, police had arrested the suspect and had seized a stolen Mangalsutra from her.
Police have now recovered all the stolen jewellery worth Rs 2.90 lakh.
The suspect had gone to her native place in Kudal after the theft and kept some of the jewellery at her home. She had sold some of the ornaments to a goldsmith.
Saligao Police are investigating the matter.
Nishita Naik of Salmona-Saligao had filed a complaint with Saligao Police stating that Prajakta Khavnekar had come to her residence on April 3 at about 10 am and stayed overnight.
