ANC sleuths nab notorious criminal with drugs worth Rs 8.10 lakh in possession

The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) sleuths nabbed a notorious criminal, Mohamad Safraj, during a raid at Siolim following which huge narcotics substances consisting of 2kg ganja (marijuana), 15gms MDMA and 4.61gram liquid LSD, all worth Rs 8.10 lakh were seized from his possession.

Officials said that before his arrest, the South Goa police were on the lookout for him, but he kept changing his place of stay and shifted to the North. The ANC officials then began a search for him after his alleged involvement in drug-related in Bardez around Siolim, Anjuna and Vagator came to the fore.

“Accordingly, sleuths laid a trap and nabbed him with the banned contraband,” the PRO said, adding the entire operation was chalked out and executed under the supervision of SP Bossuet Silva and DySP Nerlon Albuquerque.  

Safraj, originally a resident of Tolleaband in Davorlim is also involved in several cases of chain snatching and vehicle theft registered at different police stations across Goa.
