OLD GOA
With both the national parties, the BJP and the Congress, promising to complete the Kalsa-Bandura project in their Karnataka poll manifesto, the Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has slammed these two parties for betraying Goans on Mhadei.
“Both the BJP as well as the Congress have released their manifestos for the Karnataka elections and both have promised that they will ensure the diversion of Mhadei to their State,” RGP chief Manoj Parab informed, while adding that both parties have assured that they would reserve funds for the Mhadei diversion project once they come to power in Karnataka.
“This is nothing but total betrayal of Goa and Goans as on one side the State leaders of these parties say they will not allow diversion of Mhadei water and on other practice the exact opposite in Karnataka,” Parab opined, while urging Goans to realise the duplicity of BJP and the Congress as far as Mhadei is concerned.
MLA Viresh Borkar slammed the State BJP leaders for openly campaigning in Karnataka even though there is dispute among both the States on Mhadei.
“This shows that the BJP has no love for Goans and whatever they utter here in only superficial,” Borkar added.
He further chided the formation of the House Committee on Mhadei which, apart from meeting once, has done nothing worthy on Mhadei.
“All along the BJP was never serious about the Mhadei issue and the formation of the House Committee was only a drama,” Borkar said.
