Body of drowned victim found
VASCO: Mormugao Police on Monday morning fished out the body of Rajesh Aroskar (45), who had gone missing at the Japanese Garden Beach on Sunday evening.
According to the police, they received a call at about 8 am that a body was floating just off the beach, where Aroskar had gone for a swim.
The police rushed to the beach and recovered the body which was in a decomposed state and sent it to GMC Hospital at Bambolim for an autopsy.
Police further informed that once the autopsy is conducted and the exact cause of death is known, the body will be handed over to his family for final rites. PSI Risikesh K Patel is investigating the case.
It may be recalled that while Aroskar was swimming at the beach he went missing and efforts by Mormugao Police to trace Aroskar till late Sunday evening proved futile.
