Vasco Councillor Shami Salkar on Friday said both municipal gardens in the city would be developed under CSR funds in a phased manner.
Speaking to reporters during a joint inspection of the municipal garden, Salkar said there were two parks on either side of the Swatantra Path road and both needed to be developed and beautified.
"We had recently taken a resolution during the council meeting that both the municipal gardens will be developed and beautified under CSR from the Rajaram Bandekar house. As a follow-up, their engineers arrived at the garden to take the stock of the existing situation and carried out a joint inspection.”
“They have surveyed the facilities available as of now and how it can be improved. They will get back to us with their plans and we have told them what we want as well," said Salkar.
Salkar said the most important need is to have security and to increase the height of the compound wall.
“We have to take care of other infrastructure and even prune dangerous trees. There is a fountain here but it is not functional. The park also needs to be illuminated. We have also requested them to take up new washroom facilities for both the gardens," said Salkar.
