Canacona police on Tuesday nabbed a drug peddler along with his accomplice and recovered drugs worth Rs 6.65 lakh.
According to Canacona PI Chandrakant Gawas, a narcotic raid was conducted at Nagarcem along the Canacona Railway Station Road.
Canacona Police nabbed Gohil Bhairely (42) of Bhairwliwada in Char Rasta Canacona and his accomplice Shekh Dadu Daudama (25) of Nagarcem-Canacona. During a search, 510 gms of Charas and 1.55 kgs of Ganja valued at Rs 6,65,400 were seized from their possession.
Both the accused are arrested and in police lockup, informed PI Gawas and further investigation is in progress under the Supervision of SDPO Canacona and SP South.
According to sources, Gohil is reportedly a habitual drug dealer and was previously arrested by Karwar police. He was also reportedly facing a murder trial in Goa.
