MAPUSA
The Congress on Sunday said if the government has any respect for democracy then they should repeal the farm laws that are against the ordinary farmers and which will spell doom to the agriculture sector in the country.
“This government has no time to listen to ordinary people. The farmers and the poor in the country have been facing untold hardships but the government has become deaf to their cries. If they have respect for democracy then they will rescind the three farm laws immediately,” said Girish Chodankar, President of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC).
The GPCC chief was addressing the media at the end of the Tractor Rally ostensibly held in support of farmers and to demand the withdrawal of Farm Laws in Mapusa.
The Tractor Rally which was supposed to start at Shivaji Maidan in Bicholim at 9 am was delayed by more than an hour and a half as the police and the civil administration refused to allow Congress to hold the rally.
