CM interacts with key officials from hospital

May attend Budget session on Tuesday

PANAJI

Even as Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is under observation for his inflamed pancreas at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, he is closely monitoring state administration and forthcoming Assembly session.

Sources told The Goan that though the Assembly session will start from Monday, Parrikar is expected to attend the session on Tuesday.

Parrikar is reportedly closely monitoring the administration and the forthcoming Assembly session, while also interacting with key officials in the matter.

Sources, however, added that if Parrikar is unable to arrive in the State to present the Budget, that task will be handed over to a senior minister.

Noted oncologist and chief of Surgical Oncology department of Lilavati Hospital Dr P Jagannath is treating Parrikar. Although tests had been conducted on Thursday and Friday, neither the hospital nor the Chief Minister’s office have revealed any further details about his health.

The chief minister continues to be under close observation for inflamed pancreas.

Meanwhile, the government and the BJP refuted speculations in a section of media and stated that the chief minister had not been advised any surgery.

BJP leader Sanjeev Desai, who is with the chief minister, refuted rumours that Parrikar was likely to undergo a surgery. Sandesh Sadhale, BJP Goa media cell incharge, stated that he is also in Mumbai and added that Parrikar’s “health is improving”, as doctors have have kept “him under observation”

The chief minister had gone for a medical checkup to the GMC hospital on February 14, before proceeding home. On Thursday morning, he returned to the GMC hospital and interacted with doctors. He proceeded to Mumbai later in the day and was admitted in Lilavati Hospital.
