Colva police nabs Bihar native with 16 mobiles

The Colva police nabbed a native of Bihar and recovered from his possession around 16 mobile handsets of different brands.

Colva police station in-charge, PI Theron D’Costa informed that the accused Akbar Alam, a native of

Patna-Bihar is presently residing near Janata hotel old station road Margao. He said the accused was found in possession of 16 mobile handsets of various brands including iPhone, Vivo, Samsung, Oppo and others, all suspected to be stolen.

PI Theron informed that the mobile sets are worth around Rs 2.50 lakh. The accused has been arrested under section 41 CrPC. The mobile phones have been attached under panchanama.

The police are looking out for the owners in order to return the mobile sets.

Further investigations are underway.
