PANAJI
A number of complainants, who had registered cases against one ‘Ajju Sindolli’, have expressed unhappiness at the slow pace at which the police investigation and trials are happening in these cases.
Paul Saldanha from Nerul, Allan Vaz from Porvorim, Maria Mascrenhas from Thivim and several others complained that they have been duped by Ajju Sindolli in the past, but they said that the police are taking a lot of time to investigate these cases.
Saldanha had actually called a press conference in Panaji, wherein he and other people, who claimed that they were victims of Sindolli addressed media persons.
Saldanha said, “We are all victims of this one man, Ajju Sindolli. This man has been cheating Goans for the past 10 years. He cheats all sections of society whether taxi drivers, ferry operators, mine owners, bank managers, widows and housewives. He doesn’t care as long as he is able to cheat and loot.”
It was further informed that there are 29 cases against Sindolli in courts in the state.
Apart from that, five cases were registered against Sindolli at E.O.C. (Economic Offenses Cell of Goa Police).
Of these, he was charge-sheeted in three cases.
Saldanha further said, “Maria is a widow from Thivim. Sindolli robbed her of her gold. He said there is a gold scheme at a bank in Marcel.
“Maria’s family are staying in Thivim. He took them from Thivim to Marcel and made them sign several papers. They didn’t know what they were signing.”
“He told them that its a bank scheme and if they keep  their gold with the bank, they will get Rs 9,400 every month. They gave their gold and came back. For the first 3-4 months, he paid them Rs 9,400 per month and then it reduced to half and then it reduced to zero”, Saldanha continued.
Saldanha, Vaz and several others recounted how they were cheated by Sindolli.
The complainants further claimed that ex-Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar, told the authorities to go slow while investigating cases booked against Sindolli.
Saldanha further said, “We met with Parsekar twice when he was the CM. Our FIRs were filed on December 2, 2015. On December 4th, Sindolli met Parsekar at his residence and he must have cried to him that  he was just a businessman. There was an immediate instruction from there, ‘Go Slow’.”
