Congress slams Govt for rise in heinous crimes

Goa Congress president Girish Chodankar on Friday lashed out at the BJP-led state government for the rising number of heinous crimes in the state. 

Congress has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for the compete failure of the state in maintaining law and order. 

Taking to Twitter, Chodankar wrote, "Miserable condition of law and order in Goa gets worst with every passing day forcing people to cruelties from the criminals. People live in panic; state is getting unsafe & @goacm is busy diverting the attention through superficial Swayampoorna Goa campaign. Burning person alive, making girl to drink disinfectant, murders. Unimaginable things crop up every minute in Goa, making the state unsafe. Correct the mess immediately or step down @goacm as we are loosing Goa every day."

PANAJI A delegation of the Goa Mining People’s Front met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday with a demand to start mining operations this season and for a total solution on mining in the State.After listening to the delegation, Sawant sought for some time to deliberate in the matter and said he would convene a meeting next week following the return of the chief secretary.
