In a strange coincidence, fake and duplicate LED bulbs were on sale right at the entrance of the Power House at Aquem on Friday. When members of GOACAN spotted the vendors selling the LED bulbs right at the entrance of Power House, they called the Margao police to reign in on the culprits.

But before the men-in-uniform could reach the spot, the culprits made good their escape while leaving the bulbs at the entrance. GOACAN Convenor Roland Martins said the culprits made good their escape after he called the police, even as he wondered how fake LED bulbs could be sold right at the entrance of the Aquem Power House. The Margao police which came to the spot later seized the consignment of fake LED bulbs.
In an interesting development in the delay in commissioning of the 6.75 MLD sewage treatment plant at Margao, JICA officials have virtually disowned the undertaking given by the PWD office to the High Court that the plant will be commissioned by May-end.
