The police on Saturday were alerted about a dead body lying in a flooded paddy field in Taleigao.
The body of a man, said to be in his thirties, was found lying in a field, and although there is no conclusive evidence, the police suspect he must have accidentally fallen into the flooded field and drowned.
The body has been sent to the Goa Medical College (GMC) for an autopsy examination, police sources said, adding that they have been working on identifying the dead man which will be crucial to proceed further in the investigations.
Presently a case of unnatural death has been booked and the man appears to be of Nepali descent, the sources said.
