MARGAO
Hundreds of dhirio fans thronged Telaulim on Thursday evening for a bullfight where a series of bulls were expected to lock horns.
Sources further said that Godgoddo gambling also reigned at the venue just before the bullfights could take place.
While sources said a bullfight did take place at the venue, the Margao police claimed that though the bullfights were planned at the venue, they did not take place after a police team reached the spot.
When The Goan called up Margao Police Station in-charge, PI Arun Desai, to shed light on the Telaulim bullfights, he said a police team was dispatched to Telaulim upon receiving information through the control room about the bullfights.
He said no FIR was registered against the organisers since the bullfights did not take place at the venue, while admitting that a huge crowd had assembled at the site.
