MARGAO
A month after the CO lodged an FIR against Moraes for restraining a government servant on duty, Naik has filed yet another FIR against the Vice-Chairperson, this time for issuing a forged receipt as genuine for an amount of `5,000.
Acting on the CO’s complaint, the Cuncolim police have registered an offence under sections 409, 468 and 471 of the IPC against Moraes, who has now moved the South Goa Sessions Court for anticipatory bail fearing arrest. Hearing of the bail plea will come up before the court on March 14.
Commenting on the complaint, Moraes termed it as being politically motivated. Meanwhile, CMC Chairperson Lavita Mascarenhas has written a letter to the Cuncolim police stating that the Vice-chairperson was authorized by the civic body to take control of the waste treatment plant and to dispose of the scrap generated at the site.
