The meeting also decided to appoint Vasant Shirodkar as the Chairman of the Organising Committee to organize the shigmo parade with Margao Municipal Chairperson Babita Angle Prabhudesai as its ex-officio president.
This was decided at a joint meeting held at the Margao Municipal Council on Wednesday chaired by the MMC Chairperson and attended by Chief Officer Siddivinayak Naik, councillors and members of the Shigmotsav Samiti.
After the meeting, councillor Avinash Shirodkar stated that while the MMC Chairperson will be the ex-officio president of the Shigmotsav Samiti, today’s meeting has decided to appoint Vasant Shirodkar as the organizing committee chairman.
To a question, Avinash said that the meeting has decided to shift the Shigmo parade route to Fatorda, between the Colva circle and Ravindra bhavan junction to ease traffic congestion in the city.
