MARGAO: In a bid to ensure better coordination between the prosecution and the police, the Director of Prosecution, Sarojini Sardinha, had a meeting with senior police officials, including SP, South Arvind Gawas, DySP Raju Raut Desai and station in-charges of the Margao, Maina-Curtorim, Colva and Cuncolim police stations.
The meeting comes a week after the Director of Prosecution carried out a routine inspection of the office of the assistant public prosecutors. While the DoP Sardinha termed the meeting a routine and normal one, sources said it was aimed at bringing coordination between the assistant public prosecutors and the police in matters relating to chargesheets.
SP South Arvind Gawas informed that the meeting was aimed at ensuring coordination in matters relating to filing of chargesheets. “The meeting did not discuss the issue of police investigations, but only dwelt at length the issues relating to charge sheets,” SP Gawas said.
