Police on Saturday arrested another local from Agonda, Canacona in the drugs case found in possession of a jail guard at Colvale jail some days ago.
The alleged accused, Yogesh Pagi was nabbed by the Colvale Police after the jail guard, during the investigation, revealed his involvement in the incident.
“During the process of interrogation the jail guard who was arrested a couple of days ago disclosed that the drugs were meant for the under trial prisoner Vikat Bhagat who is a resident of Canacona, and the drugs were supplied to the jail guard by Pagi,” said Jivba Dalvi, SDPO Mapusa.
Accordingly, police laid a trap to the alleged accused Yogesh Pagi late Friday night and arrested him at Agonda, Canacona.
Police have also sought the custody of under-trial prisoner Vikat Bhagat through a transfer warrant.
PI Somnath Majik is investigating further under the supervision of SDPO Jivba Dalvi and SP North Shobiit Saxena (IPS).
