Stating that anti-industry and anti-government NGOs are opposing projects in the State, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has appealed to industries body Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry to have a dialogue with these organisations.
"Every project has been challenged by NGOs. We are fighting in NGT, Supreme Court," said Sawant while speaking at the 114th annual general meeting of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
They (NGOs) are opposing industries, marina, he said, adding that we have to talk to the NGOs across the table.
"Industries can take initiative and talk with these people", said CM.
Sawant said that the government is committed to resolving the issues to enhance the business environment in the State.
Sawant said that the State government has acknowledged the contribution of GCCI to Goa's development while celebrating 35th Goa Statehood Day.
He said that the State government is bringing various reforms in the industries sector, including a new industrial policy.
"With enhanced and coordinated efforts of all the stakeholders, Goa will continue to develop as a business centre in industry and IT sector along with tourism. It will contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of New India," the Chief Minister said.
