Aam Aadmi Party Goa convenor Rahul Mhambre on Thursday stated that the show-cause notices he has received at the behest of the BJP government and Mapusa MLA Joshua D'souza are unwarranted and only encourages him to work harder for Mapusa, the party stated in a press release.
Mhambre also challenged CM Pramod Sawant and Mapusa MLA Joshua D'souza to use all the government machinery like ED, CBI and IT against him, but it won't deter him from working hard for Mapusa and Mapshekars, the release adds.
The AAP Mapusa candidate has been served show-cause notices for violating the EC guidelines by holding a blood donation camp and felicitation of Safai Mitras on the occasion of his birthday.
Mhambre said, "Since I organised a blood donation camp and a felicitation ceremony for Safai Mitras on my birthday, which was on January 3, and now that the code of conduct has been implemented by EC on January 8, it is not justified to issue show-cause notices".
Adding he said, "On inquiry, the officials informed our team that they would serve me yet another show-cause notice for visiting Mapusa Bodgeshwar temple jatra".
Mhambre claimed that the BJP government has a habit of serving notices. He said, "ye dar acha laga, Joshua". However, such notices will not thwart efforts to improve Mapusa".
He said, "AAP has completed its first round of door-to-door campaigning in Mapusa and has been reaching out to Mapshekars with Kejriwal's six promises. We will soon bring a manifesto that is specifically geared to Mapusa and guarantees for Mapusekars".
"AAP has received a tremendous response from Mapshekars and through door-to-door campaigning, we have realised that the people want a change this time around. They are determined to see the AAP come to power", he added.
