MARGAO
Carnival Floats centered on environment, wild life etc have bagged the prizes at the Carnival float parade organised by the Margao Carnival committee on Sunday last.
The results were declared by Margao Municipal Chief Officer and Chairperson of the Margao Carnival Committee, Agnelo Fernandes in the presence of Municipal Engineer Manoj Arsekar and Assistant engineer, Vishant Naik.
In the family category, the float by G-Boys of Ponda bagged the first prize for the float centred on the theme Save Wild Life. The second prize was won by Tamesh & Groups for the float Army Helicopter, while the third prize was bagged by Big City Rose for the float Protect Goa Beauty. The fourth and fifth prize was bagged by Boys of Collem Dongor and Unimk Boys for the floats Peace and Goencho Gorabo respectively.
In the Club/Institution category, Dom Boys won the first prize for the float on the them Save the Trees. The second prize was bagged by 777 Boys on Save Wild Animals them. The third prize went to Minions (Maina) for the float on Minion City. The fourth and fifth prize was bagged by Iconic Boys and Shiv Sai Boys for the floats on the theme Eagle and Save Wild Life respectively.
In the traditional category, the float by Goyecho Lakdacho Upyog bagged the first prize, while the second prize went to St Estevam for the float on Kazuchea Biyancho Kaakanno. The third and fourth prize was bagged by Addle Xetkar and Goenche Khumbar respectively.
Sadanand Gavankar, Ramchandra Gavankar, Blazia Rebello, Rama Natekar and Dylan Rodrigues won the first, second, third, fourth and fifth prize in the clown/joker category.
In the Fun Junk category, Damodar Fadte won the first prize. The other winners in this category are Aquem Boys, Joao Menezes, Wedding day and Jolly family of Mapusa.
