Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte has appealed to writers to focus on all subjects concerning the common man and should not restrict themselves on specific topics.
He was addressing a gathering after releasing journalist and writer Anil Shankhwalker’s 13th Book ‘Mone Kolle’ in Konkani on Tuesday.
Former member secretary of Kala Academy Dr Pandurang Phaldessai was the guest of honour, while other dignitaries present were Gupesh Naik, Sanjay Pednekar, Vijay Dalvi and Raulu Parsekar.
“Articles in the book are a collection of thoughts, experiences, sentiments and emotions of the author, Anil Shankhwalker. They are pertinent to our times and a lot of these reflections are seen in our day-to-day lives.”
“Writers should focus on all subjects concerning the common man and should not restrict themselves on specific topics.”
Dr Phaldessai said the writers have got the power to change the minds of readers through their books and articles.
“It is the duty of every Konkani writer to promote Konkani literature in all forms,” said Dr Phaldessai. Shankhwalker also spoke on the occasion.
