An event on the theme of Goa@60 was held by Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) on behalf of Department of Information and Publicity at the Celebration Mall in Udaipur, Rajasthan on Friday.
The event was inaugurated by Shikha Saxena, the Dy Director Tourism of the Rajasthan government, along with Kamlesh Sharma, the Dy Director of DIPR the Rajasthan government.
Appreciating the Goa government for choosing Udaipur as a destination for the road show, Saxena said that Udaipur and Goa share similarities as both are tourist destinations in their own ways.
Such platforms are a healthy practice and should be encouraged as it provides an opportunity to exchange and know cultural programmes, bringing the varied rich cultural heritage to cross sections of the society, she observed.
The inaugural session was followed by Goan folk dances performed by Goan artists which received overwhelming response from the crowd.
Goa @60 road show helps to connect with the people from various cities in a big way and showcase the Goa government’s achievements and progress in last 60 years after Liberation.
The Goa@60 road shows were planned to be held across six cities across the country. The first show was held in Ahmedabad recently, with the next shows being planned in Varanasi, Madurai, Mysore and Thiruvananthapuram.
The initiative aims to showcase Goa and attract more visitors and investors to the state.
