Aiming at taking a step forward towards Swachh Bharat, Nital Goem , Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has proposed that the last Saturday of the month be a clear the backlog day for the government employees. He has invited suggestions from the government employees as well as the public on the same within a month s time. Speaking to media persons, Parsekar said, “We have made tremendous progress with regard to Swachh Bharat, Nital Goem . And I think that every month s work should be completed by the end of that month itself. I appeal to all the government employees that they should work on last Saturday and clear the pending backlog.” He said that if the pending backlog is cleared, then automatically there will be cleanliness. “I am throwing the issue open for public reactions. Officers and workers also can send their recommendations, if any. We can sacrifice one weekly off and start afresh during the next month”, he said. He, however, admitted that it was not right on his part to take such a decision during the election year. “We know it is not correct to take such a decision during the election year but with a sense of understanding the people can take it up. Let the subject come up for discussion then we can decide”, he said.
