SALIGAO: A government employee has been accused of outraging the modesty of a woman at the River Navigation Department (RND) office in Betim on March 11.
In her complaint to Porvorim police, the woman stated that the incident took place at about 9.30 am when the accused restrained her at the RND and threatened with dire consequences if she did not withdraw her complaint against him at Porvorim and Panjim police stations.
She claimed that the accused had forcibly dragged her in his car and had outraged her modesty, adding that the RND office staff later rescued her from further molestation.
Porvorim Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi informed that the accused, who is employed with the RND, has been booked under Sections 341, 506 (ii) and 354 of IPC.
“The accused is absconding, but he will be arrested shortly,” said PI Dalvi.
