CANACONA
Claiming that the government's popularity graph is surging with every passing day, BJP District (South) president Sarvanand Bhagat said the recently-launched Deen Dayal Awasth Yojna is providing a further boost to the party’s image in the eyes of the electorate.
“The increasing popularity of the BJP government is the outcome of our party workers' strength. Our karyakartas are taking every scheme launched by the government to the people’s doors,” said Bhagat while addressing the media in Canacona.
“Development is flourishing on all the four sides, and the all-out efforts of Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar has particularly left no angle unattended in Canacona,” he said.
With the launch of Deen Dayal Awasth scheme, BJP workers are once again at the doors of electorate, and maximum forms have been filled out.
“The scheme is open to each and every resident irrespective of income, religion or party affiliations. That’s the openness with which BJP is functioning in the interest of all the people,” added Bhagat.
Speaking on the ruling councillors of Canacona, BJP Block president Mahesh Naik said: “Hot-mixing of road at Kindlebhag (Rs 40 lakh), Patnem-Loliem (Rs 74 lakh), Palolem road (Rs 90 lakh), in addition to developments at every village panchayat level to the tune of Rs 1 crore was possible only because of Tawadkar.”
“During my tenure as Poinguinim sarpanch, we carried out developmental works worth Rs 1.75 crore in the village. Our workers decide and also lead by example and it's not right for CMC to blame others for its inability.”
Further coming to the defence of the sports minister, councillor Hemant Kumar Naik Gaunkar said: “People who don't know reality and vaguely criticize should try to understand why construction of Ravindra Bhavan is delayed. Our minister resolved a problem of land issue and the construction work of Ravindra Bhavan, which was delayed for two years, will commence by October.”
According to councillor Kishore Shet, Tawadkar has agreed in principle to finance Rs 1 crore from ST fund for any project proposed by Shree Mallikarjun Devasthan in their property.
