It was a historic day at Communidade Fraternal de Aldona after a new committee comprising members from the upper ghats region was elected unopposed for the Triennium 2022-25.
As predicted, a large number of 'gaoncars' of Communidade Fraternal de Aldona living in the upper ghats region (ghatmatho) stormed the comunidade to exercise their franchise.
The 'gaoncars', who proudly identify themselves as zonnkars, have thus endorsed their rights over the comunidade in an election that was literally a cakewalk for the newly elected committee. The opposition was dumbfounded to see the 'tsunami' of Gaocars from ghatmatho and seeing the imminent defeat, didn't even file their nomination paving way for an unopposed election of Glen Bocaro panel.
Floyd Ds'ouza, Clyde Castelino, Chagas Carvalho and team, who were struggling to uproot the corrupt committees, found strength in their fellow gaoncars residing in the ghatamatho region comprising Watangi, Ajara, Gadhinglaj, Belgaum, Khanapur and elsewhere. The brethren who were almost lost for over four centuries were found and welcomed by this team after which there was no turning back and the rest is 'history'.
The following members were elected to the Communidade Fraternal de Aldona -- President - Glen Bocarro, Attorney - Chagas Carvalho and Treasurer - Gabriel D'souza.
The substitutes will be -- President - Delip Haldankar, Attorney - Cosme Fernandes and Treasurer - Paul D'Souza.
