A total of 9 buses, including the 8 new buses on new interstate routes, were launched in Vasco by KTCL Chairman and Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida in the presence of MMC Chairperson Deepak Naik, ward Councillor Yatin Kamurlekar, Fredrick Henriques and other KTC officials on Wednesday afternoon.
The new routes launched by KTCL on Wednesday were Panjim-Belgavi, Vasco-Miraj, Vasco-Muddebihal, Panjim-Badami, Margao-Belgavi, Panjim-Raichur, Vasco-Hubbali and Vasco-Kolhapur.
Speaking to the media , Carlos Almeida informed that the KTC had acquired 20 new buses, which included 2 sleeper and 5 Volvo buses.
“Many Goans and people from other states prefer to travel by Kadamba as we are safe and reliable. Income from our interstate routes is increasing and we will also induct 44 more drivers and conductors. We have taken steps to increase our fleet,” said Almeida.
“Our tickets are normal and on routes like Belgavi, we had a huge demand from Goan students studying there to increase the frequency. We also had demands from Goans working in Pune and Hyderabad and wanted KTC to get them to Goa on weekends,” Almeida added.
