The carcass of a leopard was discovered near a pre-primary school in Palwada, Usgaon on Friday morning.
The carcass, missing all four of its paws, was found in a partially decomposed state, indicating the animal had died approximately three days prior.
Concerns have been raised about possible foul play, especially since the three-year-old wild cat was found without its claws.
Leopard sighting have been on the rise in the village, with some attributing their presence into villages in pursuit of prey such as dogs.
