Margao home targeted by burglars for 4th time since last October

MARGAO

The Margao Police came under the lens of citizens after burglars successfully targeted a house in the heart of the city for the fourth time since October last.

What’s interesting to note is that the police seemed to be groping in the dark when the miscreant had left behind his Android phone inside the house during the third burglary attempt. Though the mobile phone contained photos of the miscreants and several photographs of his family members, the miscreant has not been brought to  book to date.

House owner Melvyn Fernandes came to his house with his wife to carry out maintenance, only to find the rear house door open. He called up the Margao Police to inform them that the miscreants had again made it to his house for the fourth time since October last year.

Melvyn told the media that he is staying at Borda for the moment since his house in Margao is undergoing

renovation.

“When I come to check the ongoing maintenance work, I find the rear door open. This is the fourth time since October last that the rear door of my house has been found open. The police have been unable to lay their hands on the miscreant,” he added.

The first attempt to break open the house was made in October last, with the Margao Police assuring to trace the accused persons. “During the second attempt, I had seen the culprit running away from the house when I had come to the house,” he said.

Melvyn said another attempt was made by the accused in December, this time the miscreant leaving behind the Android phone.

“I handed over the phone to the Margao Police, who promised action since the phone contained a number of photographs,” he said.

Sadly, he said the Margao Police has failed to arrest the culprit, though the police have all the photographic evidence with them of the accused.
