After completing the campaigning in all the 59 booths of Canacona on a high note, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar claims there is no opposition to BJP’s Pallavi Dempo and the lead for BJP would be over 14,000 votes in Canacona constituency alone.

Canacona MLA and Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar alongwith CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar and Sarpanchs of Khotigao Anandu Dessai, Poinguinim Savita Tawadkar and Shristhal Shejal Gaonkar, besides the Canacona BJP block president Vishal Dessai, addressing the media on Saturday evening informed that BJP has successfully completed campaigning in all the 59 booths of Canacona constituency, and he sees no competition at all from either of the two opposition candidates as far as Canacona constituency is concerned.

“Our party has given the very right candidate, and all the cadre has perfectly worked for Pallavi. The Dempo family had contributed for the success story of our State, be it in the mining sector, education sector, they had only contributed and also made substantial sacrifices for the State’s prosperity and through their trusts, sports activities done lots for which voters have taken her candidature positively,” Tawadkar said.

“Congress is nowhere among the electorate in any of the 59 booths of Canacona and it will be a one-way for BJP when the voting takes place on May 7. Pallavi Dempo has visited the constituency thrice and has been part of several corner meetings with the enthusiastic voters of Canacona. Besides, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Party president Sadanand Tanavade had twice met the electorate in Canacona. This is not a panchayat/municipality, or assembly elections but a national one. Opposition efforts to do caste and religion based politics has failed in Canacona due to our successfully bringing together all into BJP fold. Given the ground reality, BJP is going to get over 70 per cent of the votes that will be polled on Tuesday,” Tawadkar said.

Tawadkar informed that while BJP will be capturing both the Lok Sabha seats in Goa, South Goa’s Pallavi will get an overall lead of over 50,000, and 14,000 votes lead in Canacona alone.
