Muhurta on documentary on martyr Mapari held

The Muhurta (auspicious time) of a documentary based on the work of martyr Bala Raya Mapari was conducted at Shri Shantadurga Temple, Moite-Assanora.

Tivim MLA Kiran Kandolkar, Assanora sarpanch Sapana Mapari, Menezes Braganza Institute president Sanjay Harmalkar, director Karan Samarth, executive editor of RDX Channel Subhash Naik, Devasthan president Vasudev Mapari, author of the documentary book Udaybuwa Fadke and others were present on the occasion.

Udaybuwa Fadke presented a programme of Kirtana based on the life of martyr Bala Raya Mapari, in which he narrated some incidents describing the torture of Mapari by Portuguese rulers.

MLA Kandolkar said villagers of Assanora are proud to have a martyr from Assanora. “Also, Mapari's family should be proud to have this moment,” he said.

Sanjay Harmalkar, Subhash Naik, Dhanraj Harmalkar, director Karan Samarth and sarpanch Mapari spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, Dhanraj Harmalkar welcomed the gathering, which was followed by flower tribute to the portrait of Bala Raya Mapari. Anil Salgaonkar proposed the vote of thanks.
