Nashik man booked for stealing casino chips worth Rs 5 lakh

A man from Nashik, Maharashtra, has been booked for allegedly stealing five casino chips worth Rs 5 lakh from a woman from Chhattisgarh at a casino in Porvorim.

The incident reportedly took place on May 30. Porvorim police registered a case on June 16 after the woman returned to her native village and filed a complaint at the Tikrapara Police Station in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Tikrapara police registered a Zero FIR and later transferred the case to Porvorim police for further investigation.

According to the complaint, the woman had purchased casino chips to play at the casino. She alleged that a man identified as Bhagwat Gured befriended her and stole five chips worth Rs 1 lakh each from her bag, which had been left on a table.

The woman later returned to her hotel room and discovered that the chips were missing. After returning to Raipur, she lodged a complaint with the local 

police. Police Sub-Inspector Sanket Talkar is investigating the case.
