Nigerian arrested for assault
PERNEM: A 30-year-old Nigerian was arrested on charges of assaulting a local with a glass bottle at Korgao-Pernem. The Nigerian was later booked for staying in the country without a valid visa.
According to Pernem police, Satish Narse of Bhatwadi-Korgao had complained that the accused, Vgochukwu Naedi (30), presently residing at Arambol, had assaulted him with a glass bottle at Korgao, inflicting injuries on his left ear on Thursday evening.
Acting on the complaint, Pernem police arrested Naedi under Section 324 IPC.
During interrogations, police found out that Naedi was found staying in the country without a valid visa. He was subsequently booked under Sections 3 (2) (a) & 6 (a) of Passport Entry into India Rules 1950, Sec 3 & 4 of Passport Entry into India Act 1920, Sec 7 (I) (III) of Foreigners Order 1948 r/w Sec. 14 of Foreigners Act 1946.
