Nigerian arrested in ANC raid

Anti Narcotics Cell of Goa Police on Monday conducted a narcotics raid and seized LSD papers and ganja worth a total of approximately Rs 1.60 lakh.

 The police also arrested Oguga Okafor (34), a Nigerian national and resident of Grand Peddem, Anjuna in the raid. The team led by PSI Ditendra Naik along with two pancha witnesses raided a spot opposite the chapel near Whispering Wood, Grand Peddem at Anjuna and caught the accused red-handed for being in illegal possession of 0.30 gms of LSD papers and 100 gms of suspected ganja, totally worth Rs 1.60 lakh in the international market. The accused was booked on Tuesday under Sections 22 (c), 20 (b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act, 1985. The narcotic substances were attached under the panchanama along with two mobile phones and a Nigerian passport.

Probe Nigerians on student visas: Ravi

Casting a doubt over Nigerians who come to Goa on student visas, former home minister Ravi Naik on Tuesday demanded an investigation into this aspect, and also called for a ban on Nigerians who visit the State.
