No searches by SIT, CBI: Sanatan

Rumours that a joint team of SIT and CBI had conducted searches at the Ramnathi Ashram of Sanatan Sanstha in Ponda sent the local police scurrying to the ashram, only to find out that there were no raids at the site.

Ever since Dr Virendra Tawde, a seeker of Sanatan Sanstha, was arrested in the Dr Narendra Dabholkar murder case, the local police has beefed up their local intelligence and are constantly in touch with locals to find if any government vehicle from Maharashtra entered the Sanatan Ashram.Confusion prevailed on Wednesday afternoon, when a news portal report claiming that a joint team of SIT and CBI had conducted searches at the sanstha s ashram in Ramnathi was circulated on the social media.A police team rushed to Ramnathi, only to find that no police from Maharashtra was in Ramnathi.Speaking to The Goan, Sanatan Sanstha Manager Virendra Marathe confirmed that nobody had visited the Sanatan Ashram. “I was expecting their presence, but no one has come so far. The news appearing in the media is totally false,” Marathe said.Sources informed that police from Maharashtra are likely to visit only after the conclusion of an ongoing All India Hindu Convention at Ramnathi.
