Speaking to media persons, Parsekar said, “I am monitoring the process at least twice a week. We will accommodate all the students. Those who have not got admissions have been asked to register with the education department.” He however stated that he did not want to increase the liability on the State by granting permissions to new schools. “I don t want to increase the liability of the State by increasing the number of institutions, as once we grant permissions, the expenditure on them remains forever. Though I am not here on permanent basis, the State needs to function properly,” he said. “If the students are waiting for admissions, the existing schools could be given permissions to add one more division. If the number of students is less, we could give them permission to add additional students. But new schools will be granted permission only if need be,” he stated.
