MARGAO
The Nuvem gram sabha on Sunday gave its approval for the budget estimate for the financial year 2023-24.

At the meeting chaired by Sarpanch Frida D’Sa, the gram sabha gave its approval for the budget estimates pegged at Rs 5.99 crore.

The Annual Development Plan, which was placed at the gram sabha, however, could not discuss all the resolutions and a decision was taken to put the resolutions on the panchayat website. It was further decided to convene a special gram sabha after 15 days to discuss and approve the ADP.

The drinking water scarcity faced by the people was brought to the notice of gram sabha by Zena Andrade. The same was discussed threadbare after a PWD Engineer explained in detail the reasons behind the situation.

Zena pointed out that every day the water supply stops for about 3-4 hours that too at odd timing, causing inconvenience to the people of Murda Grande.

One of the gram sabha members questioned if the water supply is not sufficient to meet the requirements of existing consumers, why is the PWD releasing water connections to new houses.

The controversial mobile tower at Gorvote also figured at the gram sabha.
