With the driver going missing, the Fatorda police drove the vehicle to the police station to conduct further inquiry.
When the Goan contacted the Fatorda police to shed light on the episode, PI Navlesh Desai informed that the police have attached the insulated vehicle as well as arrested the vehicle driver Mariappa Palgare, a resident of Azad Nagar under section 34 of the Indian Police Act.

Meanwhile, the wholesale fish market association has condemned the episode, saying that no one has the right to dump unsold or rotten fish in the nearby river.
