Picnickers clean Khola beach

CANACONA: Picnics are usually for frolic and merriment, but a group of youth from Gaondongrim decided to conduct their picnic with a difference by lifting heaps of garbage and trash left behind by other picnickers at Rajbagh-Khola beach.

On Sunday, the IYC of Indrawada-Gaondongrim went to Rajbagh-Khola for a picnic, but were dismayed to find garbage left behind over a period of time at one of the most popular picnic spots in Canacona taluka.

According to sources, the 25-odd Gaondongrim boys could not bear the sight and decided to pick up all the litter as soon as they reached the site. The thrash was then deposited into bags for proper disposal, before they left the place.
