Adv Gomes had submitted the plaint on July 9 after taking cognizance of a sting operation on a local daily.
Speaking to the media at Police Headquarters, Superintendent of Police (crime) Karthik Kashyap stated, “We have initiated a preliminary enquiry into the complaint. parties Concerned parties will be summoned when required.”
The preliminary enquiry is being headed by PI (crime) Dattaguru Sawant, it was learnt. In the complaint submitted to Crime Branch, Adv Rajeev Gomes has stated that the videos reveal a trail of blackmail and extortion perpetuated by the local daily.
Adv Gomes has submitted a CD containing all four videos of the said ‘sting operation’ while forwarding a copy of the complaint CM’s office, Chief Secretary and DGP.
