Youth dies after ingesting poison

Mixing Feni with water from a field sprayed with pesticides ended up being a fatal concoction for a youth from Dhave-Sattari, who died of inadvertently ingesting the poison on Monday.

According to reports, Pravin Gaonkar had consumed Feni by mixing it with water from a field water on June 17, unaware that the field had been sprayed with pesticides.   
The next day, Gaonkar took seriously ill and he was rushed to the Valpoi Community Health Centre (VCHC) for treatment. 
When his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to GMC in Bambolim for further medical treatment but Goankar breath his last on Monday. Police conducted the panchanama and is investigating the case.

Mine owners asked to deposit money on ore not shipped

The Mines Department has asked all mine and ore owners who have bought ore through the e-auction cost but have not shipped it out as yet to deposit a sum with the department for that ore.
