Poll code: CEO asks list of ongoing works from departments

Government departments have been issued a missive by the office of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Goa, to furnish a list of all ongoing development and construction activities through their aegis. 

The departments have also been asked to include works that are yet to commence.

The CEO has asked that the list of works be furnished directly to his office at Altinho.

Giving a detailed explanation of the details of work required to be furnished, the CEO's office has asked heads of departments to give a list of works which have already begun on the ground and also of works which are yet to be physically started.

In a separate communique, the CEO has also directed all heads of departments to ensure that photo-portraits of all political leaders be either removed or covered and hidden.

The CEO missive also said photos of any political leaders should be removed or hidden from all official websites as well.

Also taking cognisance of the complaint of alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct, the office of the CEO has asked election officials in South Goa to investigate and commence process in the matter of the use of Ravindra Bhavan in Margao for a felicitation function by ruling BJP politician Damu Naik.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India, held a meeting at its Delhi headquarters with all top government officials who have been designated election observers in the five States going to polls.

There will be three types of election observers -- economic, general and police.
