Pontoon inauguration at Panaji
PANAJI: Marinetek India in collaboration with Alcon (Anil Counto) Group has set up a project to manufacture floating concrete pontoons in Goa, under the Make-in-India scheme.
The pontoons are to be manufactured in Goa using state-of-the-art technology from Marinetek Corporation, which has manufacturing facilities in more than 12 countries. This ambitious venture will manufacture all-conrete heavy duty floating pontoons in Goa, for building environmentally friendly mooring facilities for boats in the inland water transport, tourism, fisheries and defence sectors.
Panaji MLA and vice chairperson of GSIDC Siddharth Kuncolienkar will launch the operations at the Alcon facility (construction site) near the Sewage Treatment Plant, Panaji, at 12.30 pm on July 18.
