Pothole repairs of Betim-Nerul road begins in earnest

As the road had developed big potholes, driving along this route had become a hazardous task at night in the monsoons.
The issue of the pathetic condition of the road was raised in the gram sabha several times, but to no avail.
Finally, Housing Board Minister and Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar took the initiative to repair the road.
Salgaonkar inspected the work of filling up of potholes at Betim and advised the contractor to complete the work of the entire stretch of road before Diwali.
Later speaking to media persons, Salgaonkar said, "I had received requests from the general public to repair this road urgently. Since hundreds of vehicles, including those of tourists ply along this road regularly, I decided to initially take up the work of filling the potholes," he
added.
"The work will be completed before Diwali and hotmixing of this road will be done through the PWD after the festival of Diwali," said Salgaonkar.
