Describing Indian IIT engineers as being the best in the world, President of the Manufacturers’ Association for Information Technology (MAIT) Nitin Kunkolienkar advised students to think out
of the box and prepare themselves to new opportunities and challenges of a global market.
He was speaking at the silver jubilee celebrations of Shree Nirakar Education Society’s Satyawati Soiru Angle Higher Secondary School at Mashem-Canacona.
S S Angle Higher Secondary School started its classes in June 1993 with Narayan B Desai as the Principal and shifted to the new independent premises in 1998.
Stating that Arts, Commerce and Science are all inter-dependent streams, Kunkolienkar further advised the students not to limit themselves by the choice of their stream.
Shri Nirakar Education Society Chairman Prashant Naik spoke on various career opportunities available to students.
‘The negative attitude of comparing and complaining is highly unproductive. There are glaring examples of rural youth who made it big despite compelling economic and other limitations,” he said.
The inaugural silver jubilee celebration function began with a ‘prabhat pheri’ procession from Shri Nirakar High School to S S Angle Higher secondary school.
Students, ex-students and teachers participated in the torch rally. Former students of S S Angle Higher Secondary School later lit 25 ceremonial lamps.
Lamps and vases prepared by the special children of Lok Vishvas Prathistan at Canacona were gifted as mementoes to the guests.
S S Angle Higher Secondary School Principal Jairam K Gaonkar earlier welcomed the gathering, while the function coordinator Kavindra Phaldesai compered the programme and later proposed the vote of thanks.
