Town and Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane on Sunday said the report of the review of three suspended Outline Development Plans (ODPs) and other irregularities is in the final stages of completion and illegalities of people holding high positions will be exposed.
"I would like to say that we are in the final stages of closing the issues, making necessary corrections & reverting them back to its status in ODPs & Regional Plan 2021 in ODP areas where illegalities have been done & areas have been wrongfully converted for personal gains," Rane said in a tweet.
Although not naming him, Rane's Sunday statement via a series of tweets on the microblogging site is an obvious reaction to Opposition Leader Michael Lobo's attack on him on Saturday, accusing him of making allegations to attract media attention.
Rane said in another tweet: "Illegalities of people in high holding positions will be exposed. Investigation in this matter is still in process."
"I appeal to the people of Goa, to see the calibre of people you elect. These people are the ones who at the cost of their power make profit for personal gains," Rane said in yet another tweet.
"I can assure you all that this will end well in the interest of the people of the State. We are here to protect the landscapes and prevent illegalities and create transparency that no one in a position of authority in the State will ever take the people of Goa for a ride," Rane further tweeted.
Rane and Lobo have been engaged in an intense battle after the former alleged glaring irregularities, suspended three notified ODPs and set in motion a process to review the three ODPs of Calangute-Candolim, Arpora-Nagoa-Parra and Vasco-da-Gama planning areas back in April.
The TCP department also filed a complaint and an FIR was booked against Lobo and his MLA-wife Delilah, over alleged illegalities related to a property they own in Parra.
Lobo had on Saturday hit out at Rane, accusing him of making wild allegations to attract media attention. Citing a specific complaint received via email by Rane, which sought to implicate him, Lobo had clarified that the change of zone of a particular property in Calangute was done as per an order of the Deputy Collector as it was a paddy field.
