A restaurant and some shops near Anjuna beach were demolished on Wednesday morning.
Goa Tourism Development Corporation carried out the demolition of Sea View Resort and some shops after they were found to be illegally built close to the HTL and inside GTDC property.
Mamlatdar Madhu Narvekar, GTDC, PWD officials, and others were present during the demolition drive.
Anjuna police provided the security to the demolition squad.
PERNEM Pernem fire personnel were kept busy throughout the day on Wednesday, clearing as many as seven trees that had fallen on houses and roads in the taluka. According to reports, a tree came crashing down on the house belonging to Thomas Fernandes at Pernem market and damaged the toilet.
