BICHOLIM: Speaker Anant Shet laid the foundation stone for the construction of a retaining wall at Madel-Chorao ferry point.

The retaining wall will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.5 lakh. The need for constructing the retaining wall was felt as it was not possible to anchor ferry boats during high tide during the monsoon.

Mayem ZP member Shankar Chodankar, Chorao Sarpanch Aarti Bandodkar, former sarpanch Premanand Mhambrey, former panch Prasad Kundaikar, PWD engineers and panchas Vishal Acharya, Pooja Chodankar, Divya Usapkar and Pandhari Vernekar were present on the occasion.

Shet also inaugurated a bus shed which was repaired at the cost of Rs 4.5 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, Shet assured to undertake remaining development works as fast as possible.
