Roy files for anticipatory bail

Roy Naik, son of Ponda MLA Ravi Naik has filed for anticipatory bail before the Panaji sessions court fearing arrest by the SIT probing the illegal mining case. 
The SIT sought two weeks to file its reply but was however given only till February 21 to file its reply to Naik’s petition. 
The SIT investigating the role of Roy Naik in main mining case said he was wanted for interrogation to confront him with available evidence. 
The SIT had issued summons to Roy to appear before the investigating officers on February 9 at 11 am. Naik failed to heed the summons. 
The SIT has made several arrests and has called several persons including former Chief Minister and current Margao MLA Digambar Kamat as part of its probe in the illegal mining case.
